Tech Tip: Reorganizing Your Member Database

The member database provides you with your own customizable database to track whatever employee information you'd like. With tools such as in-line editing and batch editing, the member database makes it easy for you to organize and maintain your data. 

When we rolled out the improved member database in December 2010, we made it possible for YOU to create and manage your own groups and fields. 

Just the other day, a user asked me if he could re-sort some of his fields. I said, "of course you can!" So, just in case you didn't know what those dotted vertical lines are for next to each group and field, they are for reordering!

Click any group or field and you will have the field highlighted, ready to be moved. Move your item anywhere you want and drop it in place and your database will update automatically.

Cassie Palmer (First Call Ambulance, TN) Shares How Online Employee Scheduling with EMS Manager Makes EMS Efficient

Cassie Palmer, scheduling/communications manager for First Call Ambulance in Tennessee, wrote a great story about her EMS Manager experience for JEMS. She talks about how switching to online employee scheduling has put accountability in the hands of their employees.

Palmer writes, "Once employees became comfortable with the scheduling system, they became more efficient. Employees are more responsible about submitting their time-off requests or checking to see if they're on the schedule. The line of communication between our employees and administrators has become simpler and more streamlined." 

The benefits aren't just for the members either. Palmer also shares that she "became more efficient in dealing with the crews and their schedules. The time previously spent on the schedule was reduced by almost half due to time saved from contacting employees."

Tech Tip: Renaming Schedules & Shift Times

Administrators of EMS Manager, FIRE Manager, and Zanager...did you know that YOU can rename your schedules and change their shift times?

The "setup" section in your system is your friend. If you haven't spent time in there, we strongly encourage going through your different setup options.

For this tech tip, we'll show you how to edit your schedule names.

 From "Setup," select the Schedules settings. You will see a list of all your schedules and their corresponding shift times. You can rename your schedules here and adjust their shift lengths. Remember to click "Save Changes" and your changes will be in effect immediately.

Attention Element Mobile Customers...or of any provider not on our list...

It finally happened...our systems can now TXT message to Element Mobile numbers. 

It took a little while to get someone on the phone to give us their SMS gateway, but it's done and you can now select, "Element Mobile" in the pull-down menu on your Member Info page.
