We have a couple of great interviews. One with Chad Clay, our Director of Business Development and another with Andy Lovell, EMS Chief with Gloucester County EMS in New Jersey.

Dave Konig Blogs About The Perks of Online and Mobile Scheduling

Dave Konig of EMS Blogs blogs about the advantages of online employee scheduling especially on mobile devices like smartphones.

He writes, "Because it is an online system, you are able to access it anywhere there is an internet connection. You could be at the station, at the local coffee shop, or even on the scene of a major incident and still have access to all of the functionality of the employee database and scheduling options."

Check it out here.

New Feature: More "Required Messages" Flexibility

A couple of weeks ago we added a feature we had several requests for: Required Messages.

This feature allows administrators to have message pop up upon logging in to your system requiring any or all members to read and confirm that they've read the message.

Now, we've included this feature in Time Clock as well. For our Time Clock users, when members clock-in, you have the option of having the required message show up then as well.

Andy Lovell Talks EMS Manager on ProMed Podcast at EMS Today 2011

We were proud to sponsor the ProMed Podcast Studio during EMS Today 2011 in Baltimore, MD. Part of the deal was that we could send over a sales person to be interviewed on air.

Our employees are more like super high-end tech support / customer service guys than actual sales people. And we really try not to brag ;-) so the thought of interviewing one of us seemed kind of silly. We suggested they talk to one of our customers instead.

Gloucester County EMS has used EMS Manager for several years and they were just down the road so we asked Andy Lovell, their EMS Chief, if he'd be willing to be interviewed on air. He agreed - and we're glad he did. Andy did a great job of explaining how they use EMS Manager and the benefits they've received.

New Feature: Date & Time Formats

For several years now our systems have had the ability to switch between standard time (2:40 am) and military or 24 hour time (14:40).

As of this week you can now also choose your preferred date format to be used throughout the system. There are currently three choices: [Apr 1, 2011], [4/1/2011], and [2011-4-1].

These changes can be made by administrators in Setup under General Settings.

The differences between EMS Manager, Fire Manager and Zanager

The only significant differences between EMS Manager, Fire Manager and Zanager are cosmetic.

All three systems are built on the same code base and all share the same basic functionality. However, each system has a different look and feel and each system has its default settings and demo configuration customized to best fit its niche.

Our first scheduling system was built in 2002, and we called it EMS Manager. In 2008 Fire Manager was added, and in 2011 we added Zanager. The code base is constantly being enhanced and improved based on the thousands of discussions we've had with users over the years.
